Skeletons In Our Closet

May 5, 2011
by

This photograph of a deer carcass was taken in early April close to the walking path approximately half way between the Cobbledick parking lot and the southern viewing platform. The relative lack of wear on the teeth suggests it was a young animal, probably less than two years old. It is estimated that it had died in early winter. Strangely, there was no sign of any leg bones.

Cause of death is not known.
